Myself and The Impostume went to see the GZA 'do' Liquid Swords last month. Notably lacking in coldness and apocalyptic dread, unfortunately.
The 'Gently Weeps' single wasn't bad, Ghostface's verse in particular...I'm curious to hear the album, mainly because - these being extremely bleak times, and (even as a big fan of 808s and lyrics about the female posterior) also being more than a bit tired of the incessant 'party and bullshit' as the Last Poets put it (in what seems like another universe). The RZA seems to be pitching towards reflecting at least a tiny bleeding hint of that bleakness. Whether it's actually any good is another matter...

Haven't heard the new Wu-Tang, but apparently it's pretty fucking bleak, at least as dark as 'Liquid Swords'. You can take samurai out the projects...
