Buffalo Stance



A collection of beautiful photos of the Buffalo grain silos that accidentally kicked off European modernism. Still looking eerie and majestic, nearly a century after the likes of Gropius and Mendelsohn saw in them the architecture of the future...

Ah, thank you for blogging this. I used to live about 3 miles from these beasties, stand as they do by the mighty remains of the Erie Canal. It goes without saying that they are far more haunting and beautiful in person, what with the sharp winds of Lake Erie blowing snowflakes about their large, cement sides. Sigh, it almost makes me nostalgic...
