This is my 1000th post here, and an appropriate place to try not to crow that I'm among some fine company on The Times' 100 Best Blogs list. I couldn't have kept this place going (to the relief of a few, I suspect) without help from various people who mostly know who they are, who convinced me I was a half-decent writer in the first place, and stopped me having to get a real job (with some help from Incapacity Benefit and Jobseekers Allowance, and bar a some mercifully brief spells of washing-up, subediting and audio-typing), and to whom I am quite ridiculously grateful, even if it doesn't always appear so.

Finally, it is you and the Hilton sisters. Go for the rematch! Knock out the dreadful Gwineth Poultry of Goop, then challenge Paris to a post-a-post contest to the death. Subject: Tatlin vs. Koolhaas (who has the thinner oeuvre?)

Thin, of course, will lure her in. Then a lighting series of cross punching theses, and she'll be on the canvas, begging for mercy!

One hundred is just the beginning: only one will rule (as you can see, I'm taking for granted that Blogging and Big Brother will eventually merge, much ss the blob ate godzilla in Blob 4)!

Huh. Just because you've got a Watch and know a thing or two about walls.

It is well deserved, there is something rather wonderful about the idea that some of the best writing on the left starts with architecture, it really gives one hope.

Oh, goody, so Paul and I aren't the only ones playing this game.

Congrats, Owen, highly deserved.

I'm only going to say the same thing as everyone else, but congratulations on getting to 1000 posts. Very Impressive! Oh yeah, and being a Times Top Blog(ger). Couldn't have happened to a nicer modernist, I'm sure.

Add my congratulations and I nominated you for an Excessively Diverting Blog Award and I dread what you think of that.

No, that's nice! I am fine with being excessively diverting. I don't know where this reputation for scorn has come from...

No indeed. I was doing it before they started putting vowels in.

Word Verification: tetscia, an Italian who is more tetchy.

Thanks for producing such consistently good writing and congratulations that it is now getting the wider recognition it deserves.

Congrats - your blog has actually ignited my recent interest in architecture - something I've never really thought about much until now.
