Wish I'd seen these films. I watched Aelita at the NFT a while back... Absolutely barking, but great fun. Also the film started to melt halfway through. It looked a bit like that part in The Wizard of Oz, where it all switches to colour, except that it just started going red in one corner, then burning up through the whole image until they turned the projector off.
I spent a good few hours traipsing around DVD market stores in Moscow trying to ask for Aelita in hopelessly bad Russian. No luck.
