owen, strictly graphically speaking, these posters look horrible, and if Communism fell because of bad design, then it's only Communism's fault that it fell!
Nonsense! How can you not love that one? The hat! The montage! The red and the curious off-blue!
''The curious off-blue'' you mean pale, drab, poor, miserable blue.And what to say of the non-descript dork's face? Is that a berret on his head, or a really bad toupee?Why does he not have an expression?Why does the food stamp or whatever annoyingly mask the slogan?Why are the letters on the boxes below illegible?
It's a Verfremdungeffekt!
The letters on the bottom are illegible because this is a low resolution image. I imagine you can read them just fine on the full-size poster.Same with the colors. They fade with time and this poster is 70 years old.
