surely alcoholism and communism would be better...haven't had a drink in a week...it's awful! really must read the Hamilton esp. with such nice cover. Can't read Highsmith at moment, too much boozing by the characters...Marx and Engels used to go on pub crawls and smash lamposts up and stuff, didn't they?
the oct revolution was followed by vodka supplies being 'liberated'- days of vodka drinking and debauchery ensued y'know. (isaac deutscher v good on this) mind you the bolsheviks weren't happy with it
