Me on the Diaries of Sergei Prokofiev, in what I am told is referred to as the Staggers. (in a brief return of the Plakaty, above is the poster to Lieutenant Kije, a Soviet historical-epic thing which Prokofiev soundtracked)

Where did that tagline come from? It sounds like:

Now I live by the railroad
with the rest of the coven
in a hovel vibrating
lit by tandoori
ovens! where we keep the ransomees!

We get raided on Fridays
we get drunk where they leave us
we discuss ways to die
ways we could have gone wrong
we don't mention the now
we can see no way out
we draw skulls on the walls
we draw blood from our balls
we play catch with the rats
but the silence won't crack
though we heave and we hack

Look what I stole!
Look what I stole for us, darling!

I'm actually quite surprised you don't know! It's a group you know well, and who I've just written a paper on (which I've not posted yet)

Ah, a gap in my Fall-knowledge! Well, there are several...

They pay, old bean, and I'm not interested in keeping my soul beautiful. And they aren't all cunts by any means.

Hey Owen,

I've been reading your blog quite a bit lately and find it very inspiring: the whole combination of architecture, social issues, film and pop culture, as well as the writing.

I'm Swedish but I've lived in Holland for most of my life, I study French, and my mother is German. I'd be glad to help you with summarizing/translating texts from these countries or with info about their politics/culture. Or just to discuss them. I was especially impressed with your pieces on Krautrock and the Amsterdam School. That's stuff that really fascinates me.
